Skrócony opis: |
The goal of the course to provide the students with a blended learning approach to the course content on Quantum Information and Quantum Many-Body Theory. The course will consist of online lectures, group projects on suggested topics and a summer school that will take place in Copenhagen in June 2024. The course is organized within the 4EU+ collaboration. The participation in the summer school of up to 9 students will supported financially by the university. |
Pełny opis: |
The course will consist of three phases. Phase 1: Online Lectures. There will be 7/8 online lectures that will take place on Thursdays late in the afternoon. A tentative list of topics includes: - Entanglement/non-locality. Subjects: States, measurement, tensor product, maximally entangled state, reduced states, density matrices, Bell-inequalities, Bell’s Theorem, Non-local games/protocols, entanglement measures... - Quantum spin-system. Subjects: Spin Hamiltonians, ground states, ground state energy, free energy, thermodynamic limit, spectral gap, Heisenberg model, Lieb-Schultz-Mattis Theorem, AKLT, ... Phase 2: group projects. Students will be asked to work in groups on a suggested topic. Their work will be presnted in the form of a poster presentation during the summer school (see below). Phase 3: summer school in Copenhagen. The course will end with a in-person summer school in Copenhagen in June 2024 (tentative dates: June 24-28th). During the summe school students will participate in courses provided by world leading experts on topics that have been introduced during Phase 1. The participation in the summer school of up to 9 students will supported financially by the university. |
