ECTS credit allocation (and other scores): 6.00 Basic information on ECTS credits allocation principles:
  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

The seminar includes topics that extend or go beyond the basic lecture on Probability Theory, as well as selected appliactions of the theory in other areas.

The seminar includes topics that extend or go beyond the basic lecture on Probability Theory, as well as selected applications of the theory in other areas. The range of topics for MSc theses is very wide, which opens multiple possibilities both for those who are interested in research and those who intend to teach at school.

Learning outcomes: (in Polish)

1) poszerzona wiedza z teorii prawdopodobieństwa,

2) umiejętność samodzielnego uzupełniania szczególów dowodów,

3) umiejętność przygotowania wystąpienia na zadany temat i przeprowadzenia poszukiwania w literaturze, również w języku angielskim (na poziomie B2+).

4) umiejętność usystematyzowania wiedzy i wygłoszenia referatu na zadany temat,

5) umiejętność zredagowania tekstu matematycznego.

Zaliczenie na podstawie:

1) przygotowania i wygłoszenia referatu,

2) zatwierdzenia tematu pracy magisterskiej (studenci I roku) lub złożenia

pracy (studenci II roku)
