The primary aim of this course is to provide students of Introduction to Political Analysis the requisite knowledge, theories, tools, and skills towards an adequate and coherent understanding of the nature of politics. At the end of this course students should be able to use the various approaches and tools to analyse the different political problems. |

Approaches to political analysis: traditional and modern 8. Society, economy and politics. The role of interdisciplinary perspectives to political analysis 9. Rational choice theory and political analysis 10. Political anthropology. Symbols, myths and rituals in politics. 11. Organizational bases of policy. Institutions in public spaces. 12. Media and politics 13. The language of politics. Analysis of public discourse. 14. Forecasts and recommendations as an effect of analytical work. |
