It aims to improve the understanding of organizations, their relations with complex environment, and main problems and dilemmas managers face. The following topics will be discussed during the course: 1. Management and organizations – past and present the evolution of management theory, metaphors and images of organizations and their practical implications, approaches to improvement of organizational performance. 2. Management: solutions, fashions, fads 3. Managers in contemporary organizations. Managerial mistakes. 4. Learning from experience. Creating environment that fosters learning: HROs, Learning organizations 5. Designing complex organizations as a managerial task 6. Corporate entrepreneurship |

(tylko po angielsku) The participants: - know contemporary tendencies in management, - know how the approaches to management evolved over time, - know how to define and analyze organizational problems, - know the basic challenges managers face, - know what are the conditions to create a learning environment within organizations, - know the basic rules of design, - know how to define corporate entrepreneurship - can analyze challenges managers face from different perspectives, - can evaluate potential solutions and their applicability, - can identify challenges managers face, and mistakes they make, - can design environment that support learning and innovative solutions within organization, - can use teamwork to analyze organizational problems, - are aware of the importance of social competencies. |
