Teaching methods:

Eclectic method. Communicative, task-based approach.

The main emphasis is laid on:

- speaking (i.a. expressing your own ideas, reporting and discussing)

- understanding authentic materials

- taking notes/writing short texts

The focus is also on expanding vocabulary and reviewing grammar by means of audio and video materials, texts, exercises and the internet websites.

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

Obtaining credits entails:

-attendance (students are entitled to three absences per semester without any excuse)

- active participation in classwork

- students’ own presentations, written and oral assignments, passing mini-tests

An Upper intermediate English course (B2) for students of the Faculty of Biology and other faculties at the University of Warsaw. General profile.

Themes: travel, wild nature and ecology, discovering the world and its mysteries, unusual places, people and their stories.

In case it is required, classes will be run online using Google Meet platform.
