The course is designed for students interested in the impact of institutions (rules of behaviour, social norms, habits) on economic processes and the reciprocal influence of economic outcomes on the way these institutions function and evolve. It aimes at providing students with interdisciplinary approach to analysis of economic phenomena and provide broad introduction to current research in the so-called New Institutional Economics. Assessment will be based on written examination. |

This course is designed for students interested in the impact of institutions (both formal and informal) on economic processes and outcomes, and the reciprocal influence of economic conditions on the existing rules, social norms, and values. It aimes at providing students with interdisciplinary approach to analysis of various constraints (both humanly devised and spontaneously created) which shape human behaviour and human beliefs. The course is tought in lecture. Assesment will be based on written examination. Students need to receive positive mark for tutorials in order to be allowed to write final exam |
