Pełny opis: |
(tylko po angielsku) This course is a part of the 4EU+ Alliance educational project entitled 'Artefacts, Creativity, Technology, and Skills from Prehistory to the Classical Period in Greece. Communities of Learning in the Past and in Higher Education Today'. The course provides an introduction to the materiality of textile production in Bronze Age Greece and to conceptual frameworks for studies of ancient technologies and textile archaeology in particular. The participants will learn about the prominent role but limited visibility of organic material culture in archaeological evidence and interdisciplinary approaches to study of what has been missing. They will learn about raw materials and techniques of their procurement, processing of fibres and production of textiles and dyes, as well as the key socio-economic importance of textile production, administrative practices related to it and how textile production was engendered. They will get acquainted with practical methodologies, such as contextual analysis, chaîne opératoire, experimental archaeology and cross-craft interactions. |
