Brief description

The purpose of the lecture is presentation of some basic tax problems and practical tax solutions frequently used in Poland and in contemporary world. The whole course divides on two parts: Firstly the main achievements in economics of taxation are discussed and subsequently practical tax forms (mostly from Poland) are described. Especially (in chronological order) we focus on: elements of tax, tax efficiency (excess burden of taxation, costs of taxes, utility losses both in F. Ramsey’s and J. Mirrleess’s meaning), tax incentives, tax equality and justice, stabilization’s role played by taxes. In second part of the course we discuss possible construction of: income taxes, revenue taxes, real estate tax and taxation of consumption in tax-system reform context.

The final exam consists of multiply-choice-test Students can increase their final result writing an essay based on the tax literature former accepted by lecturer.

Brief description

This advanced graduate course on interactions between fiscal policy and monetary policy will focus partly on substance and partly on tools. It builds on foundations introduced in Advanced Macroeconomics.

Topics will include: positive and normative models of government debt determination and fiscal-monetary interactions.

Brief description

The course is aimed to teach students programming in the Python language, the most searched after language in Google. The course is conducted from the basics, therefore no prior knowledge of programming or computer science is required. At the beginning, basics of programming and Python will be presented. Next, most important libraries and solutions for economics and analytics will be taught.

The goal of this course is theoretical preparation of students to let them increase their knowledge on their own or on other courses.
