Brief description

The goal of this seminar is to familiarize students with the normative dimension of the functioning of the European Union, including the specific nature and functions of EU law. Particular attention will be paid to the role that EU law plays in the European integration and the effects it has on relations between its entities. The subject-matter involves such issues as the objectives and values ​​on which the Union is based, primary and secondary sources of EU law and the practical aspects of establishing and applying EU law, key legal principles defining the limits of the functioning of the Union and regulating the relations between the Member States and the European Union.

Brief description

The main point of the course is to familiarize the student with the rules of employment, duties and requirements for candidates for an EU official. The classes are used to familiarize students with work in European institutions from the legal and institutional as well as practical side. The lectures introduce the ethical and regulatory principles as well as the legal basis of employment and work in EU institutions, bodies and other organizational units, provide knowledge on the interpretation of regulations based on the jurisprudence of European courts, and are also extended to the participation of invited guests - EU officials.

The aim of the course is to familiarize students with contemporary trends in the development and functioning of the media in the European democratic society and with the role of the media in shaping the European public sphere. Contemporary trends in the development of the communication process resulting from globalization and media convergence are discussed: deregulation of ownership forms, change in media content, "Americanization" of the journalist profession, the emergence of new participants in the discourse

media - so-called citizen journalism.
